Crispy Vegetable Bullets with Dip
Serves: 4–5 people
Ingredients
- Cauliflower, beans, cabbage, and carrots – 3 cups (finely grated or chopped)
- Cheese – 2 small cubes (grated)
- Garlic – 3 cloves (finely chopped)
- Maida (plain flour) – 1½ cups
- Corn flour – 1½ cups
- Soy sauce – 1½ tbsp
- Baking powder – ¼ tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Black pepper – to taste
- Ajinomoto – 1 tsp (optional)
- Water – as required
- Oil – for deep frying
Method
- In a large bowl, combine plain flour, corn flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and soy sauce.
- Add grated vegetables, garlic, and grated cheese.
- Mix well and gradually add water to make a thick dough slightly softer than chapati dough.
- Transfer the mixture to a piping bag or a thick plastic bag.
- Make a small hole at one corner or cut the tip slightly with scissors.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Press the mixture gently through the hole directly into the hot oil to form small finger-shaped pieces.
- Fry until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and place on absorbent paper to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with the dip.
Dip for Vegetable Bullets
Ingredients
- Water – ½ cup
- Corn flour – ½ tsp (optional)
- Salt – ¼ tsp
- Sugar – 1 tsp
- Green chilli – 1 (finely chopped)
- Garlic – ½ tsp (finely chopped)
- Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
Method
- Mix corn flour with water until smooth and lump-free.
- Heat the mixture on low heat for 1 minute while stirring continuously.
- Once the mixture thickens slightly, switch off the heat.
- Add salt, sugar, green chilli, garlic, and coriander leaves. Mix well.
- Serve warm or at room temperature with the vegetable bullets.
