Homemade Cheese Pizza (With Fresh Dough Base)


Serves: 2–4 pizzas

Ingredients

For Dough

  • Yeast – ¼ tsp
  • Sugar – ¼ tsp
  • White flour (Maida) – 1½ cup
  • Salt – to taste
  • Milk – 1 cup (lukewarm)
  • Butter – 1 tbsp
  • Cheese – 1 cup (grated)

For the Topping

  • Onion – 1 large (chopped)
  • Tomatoes – 4 (chopped)
  • Capsicum – 2 (cut lengthwise)
  • Green chillies – 2 (finely chopped)
  • Mushrooms – 1 pack (sliced)
  • Paneer – 200 g (cubed)
  • Butter – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Cheese – ½ cup (grated)

Method

1. Activate Yeast

  • In a small bowl, mix yeast, sugar, and a little warm water.
  • Let it rest for 10–15 minutes until frothy.

2. Prepare the Dough

  • In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, butter, and cheese.
  • Add the activated yeast mixture and warm milk.
  • Knead into a soft dough.
  • Cover and keep in a warm place for 2 hours until it doubles in size.

3. Prepare the Topping Mixture

  • Heat butter in a pan.
  • Add onions and sauté for 1–2 minutes.
  • Add tomatoes and cook until slightly soft.
  • Add salt and mix well.
  • Optional: mix a little cheese for extra richness.

4. Shape the Pizza Base

  • Lightly knead the risen dough again.
  • Roll into a round pizza base.
  • Place on a greased baking tray and let it rest for 20–30 minutes.

5. Add Toppings & Bake

  • Spread topping mixture over the base.
  • Add capsicum, mushrooms, paneer, and green chillies.
  • Sprinkle grated cheese evenly on top.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180–200°C for 10–20 minutes until golden and cheese melts.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve hot with tomato ketchup or garlic dip.
  • Best enjoyed fresh from the oven.
  • Perfect for parties and family meals.

Tips

  • Use lukewarm liquid for proper yeast activation.
  • Do not overload toppings to avoid sogginess.
  • Allow dough to rise properly for soft texture.
  • Do not overbake or crust may become hard.
