Spicy Roasted Aloo Chaat


Serves: 8 people

Ingredients

  • Boiled potatoes – 10, cut into medium pieces
  • Oil – as required for roasting
  • Powdered sugar – 2½ tsp
  • Salt – ½ tsp (or to taste)
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
  • Roasted cumin powder – ½ tsp
  • Cumin seeds – ½ tsp (lightly roasted or tempered)
  • Chaat masala – 2 tsp
  • Lemon juice – 3 tsp

For garnish (optional):

  • Sev
  • Pomegranate seeds
  • Fresh coriander leaves

Method

  1. Heat a non-stick pan and add a little oil.
  2. Add boiled potato pieces and roast them on medium heat until light golden and crispy on all sides. Stir occasionally for even browning.
  3. In a bowl, mix powdered sugar, salt, red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder, and cumin seeds.
  4. Sprinkle the spice mix over the hot roasted potatoes and toss gently to coat evenly.
  5. Turn off the heat and add chaat masala. Mix well.
  6. Add lemon juice and toss gently again.
  7. Garnish with sev, pomegranate seeds, and fresh coriander leaves.
  8. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
